Ian is a visionary thought leader working in the area of human and planetary evolution.

Ian is an inspirational public speaker, ordained minister, poet, novelist, playwright, performer, songwriter, musician, teacher, and producer.

Ian has lived, taught, and performed all over the world.  Born in England, this globe-trotting Brit, is based on Whidbey Island in Washington State.  Ian was the first in his family to go to university and took an upper second in Philosophy and Politics at the University of East Anglia, England.  In 1984 he landed in America with $100 in his pocket, a stranger in a strange land with a dream of making it big. He taught Philosophy  at the University of Cincinnati, and earned a joint Master's degree in Philosophy and Psychology. His education prepared him well for his life as a writer, thinker and intellectual.

While in Japan teaching, Ian began writing and completed his first novel called,  Desire. Desire is based on Ovid's myth of Narcissus. In the original myth, his fate is to die beside the pool where he falls in love with his reflection.  In Desire, Narcissus doesn’t die but undertakes a spiritual journey of self discovery which heals him.

Ian has published several volumes of poetry. The Manifesto of Love is a three volume collection of poems. Looking for Love, Unrequited Love, and Love Found. Is love like reaching Nirvana?  Can we ever reach the heaven of all our journeying towards love, towards perfect intimacy? In a sequel work, The Church of Dirty Love Ian asks questions like: What’s the worst that could happen, and Who needs all that romance anyway?

Ten years ago Ian was bitten by the performance bug and began producing and performing his own work. The Rhythm Dance Club was a multimedia adaptation of his novel  Desire, with spoken word, dance and music performance. Dance with the Sun was a multimedia, spoken word, dance and music performance based on the original writings of Ian Bage. Lissema and Ani is a one act play about love written and produced by Ian Bage. The Game of Life is a play in three acts about the power of the awakening of love in our hearts. Ian’s local reputation led to a commission of The Sweet and Salty Salish Sea.  William, Catherine and the Pirates of Paradise Island in 2016 for the Whidbey Children’s Theater, in Langley Washington.

Ian is also an accomplished Singer/Songwriter with five years of writing and performing at venues in the Pacific Northwest.  A local favorite, Ian writes songs that speak to our experiences as fragile human beings, from love to loss and all the moments in between.

Ian is available for speaking engagements at your club, organization, college, church or corporation. His inspirational talk, How to Save the World by Falling in Love is suitable for all ages and audiences looking to deepen their relationships with their romantic partners, with their friends and co-workers, with themselves and with God.
